Rosacea is a Common Skin Affliction that can Occur in Anyone

Rosacea is a common skin affliction that can occur in anyone, but is most common among light-skinned women between the ages of 30 to 50. It is manifested by facial redness, spontaneous uncontrolled flushing and blushing, and acne breakouts. If you’re suffering from rosacea, you have probably experienced periods of symptoms that flare up for weeks or even several months.

Topical and oral antibiotics have been used to reduce the associated acne breakouts, but until recently there was no treatment for the redness, flushing, and blushing. Now, Absolute Dermatology & Medi-Spa is thrilled to be able to offer a variety of non-surgical procedures to treat these symptoms and help restore a more natural, healthy appearance.
Our Fotofacial RF procedure is FDA-approved for facial rejuvenation. It uses a unique combination of intense pulsed light (IPL) and powerful radiofrequency energy (RF) that act synergistically to enhance the skin. After covering your eyes with protective glasses, we place a thin layer of cool gel over the treated area, press the IPL/RF device onto your skin, and flash. A series of Fotofacial RF treatments can reduce the flushing, blushing, and redness associated with rosacea by as much as 80% in many cases. Acne breakouts improved substantially, as well.

Celluma LED light therapy is another effective non-invasive treatment for rosacea symptoms. Based on LED technology, it applies light energy to the body for aesthetic benefits, promoting a natural photobiochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynthesis. LED light therapy has been scientifically proven by over 300 clinical trials to restore the skin’s natural cellular activity, helping smooth skin texture, improve skin firmness and resilience, and reduce the inflammation in conditions such as acne and rosacea.

Dermaplaning is a relatively new form of manual exfoliation meant to be performed primarily on the face. Also known as leveling the skin or simply blading, the treatment involves the use of a sterile surgical blade. The blade is held against taut skin at a 45-degree angle and stroked in a manner similar to shaving. This method removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells, leaving the skin soft and supple. Dermaplaning is safe for all skin types and skin tones, and it’s a great alternative to chemical peels or microdermabrasion for anyone who has extremely sensitive skin, redness, or rosacea.
